Myers and Sons specializes in, Water/Wastewater Plant Construction and Heavy Highway Construction, including Alternative Delivery Projects, such Design Build, Progressive Design Build, CMGC and CMAR throughout California, Colorado and the United States.  

Myers & Sons Construction is seeking a full-time experienced Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in the Greater Denver Area. This position requires a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management and progressive experience in water and/or wastewater construction.

• Coordinate project construction activities of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines and force mains, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities.
• Responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects, coordinating and adjusting the work effort within the project team to ensure project work is completed on schedule and within the allocated budget. Direct and oversee budget and design, provide QA/QC, track workload, invoice projects, lead client contact, and oversee project status report reviews.
• Able to manage projects, starting with the development of the initial project design concept, development of a project plan (including identification of staffing requirements and preparation of project schedule), execution of project design (management of resources within constraints of project budget and schedule), and culminating with the management of bid and construction phase services support.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and clients.
• Effectively convey work product and project results in technical documents, interviews, and oral presentations.
• Play a key role in new business development, including establishing new business development relationships, following through on leads, preparing SOQ’s, maintaining and building existing client relationships, and preparing formal project proposals.
• Coordinating design drawings with our CAD team
• Work with financial team for preparation of fee proposals; and project forecasting, reporting, and timely invoicing
• Maintain regular and constructive communication with clientele and project team members, including regular project meetings.
• Develop technical reports
• Light travel, mostly between Pueblo and Fort Collins, for project needs as they arise

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study from an ABET-accredited program
•  5+ Years of progressive engineering experience in:
• Water / wastewater facilities design and planning projects
• Water/wastewater operations and startup
• Hydraulic engineering and water distribution network modeling

• Progressive experience as a lead client service / relationship manager, specifically with municipal / special district clients
• Excellent client service skills
• Pursued and won projects through existing client relationships, strategic business development efforts, and/or responding to project RFPs
• Successful track record of developing new business

• Progressive direct staff supervision experience
• Demonstrated experience in managing younger staff on technical project assignments
• Responsibility for direct employee supervision, performance management and professional development
• Manage team workload and staffing levels

• Progressive project management experience with strong performance record
• Demonstrated ability to develop and effectively manage scope, schedule, and budget of projects with engineering fees greater than $200K.
• Ability to coordinate the efforts of multidisciplinary project teams

Additional preferred qualifications:

• Colorado PE License in not required but preferred
• Construction project administration and oversight experience
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Municipal engineering experience
• Demonstrated initiative and participation in community involvement and outreach
• Software experience / proficiency in AutoCAD, esp. Civil 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D
